Ski for Kids 2012 The Toronto Academy of Dentistry, in association with Toronto Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity, and the U of T Faculty of Dentistry Alumni Association, is excited to present the annual Ski for Kids fundraising event. We welcome all dentists to bring staff, friends and family for a memorable day at the slopes of Alpine Ski Club where proceeds go to support the Cleft Lip and Palate Research program at SickKids. Cleft Lip and Palate Research is one of the most common congenital anomalies in children, affecting one in 700 births. The Hospital for Sick Children's Cleft Lip and Palate Program is recognized world-wide for providing excellence in Cleft Care. With the largest program in North America, they see approximately 120 newborns per year and treat 3,500 children in their clinics. Last year, $23,000 was raised from Ski for Kids to support research impacting children born with Cleft Lip and Palate. Event Information Date: Friday, February 10, 2012 Time: 8:00 am – 5:30 pm Location: Alpine Ski Club Address: 242 Arrowhead Rd, Collingwood Ontario Directions: Follow Hwy 26 to the Town of Collingwood and turn right at the Pretty River Parkway. Stay on this road, the name will change to 1st Street. You will pass 3 sets of lights and just before the 4th set you will see a Wendy's Restaurant and the Holiday Inn Express Hotel on the right. Turn right at the Holiday Inn Express and follow Balsam Street Street out of town. This becomes Hwy 26 and will go through the Village of Craigleith with Squire John's Ski Shop on the left, Alphorn Restaurant and Craigleith General Store on the right. Continue on Hwy 26 through the next stop light and within a mile, you will see a sign for Arrowhead Rd. Turn left on Arrowhead Rd. and follow until you see Alpine Ski Club on your right. Enter the driveway at the Large Stone Marker. Bus Transportation (Complimentary): If you'd prefer to let us do the driving, park your vehicle at the Colossus and let our buses take you to Alpine Ski Club!
